cork - Cork Material
Barnacork combines the experience of more than 60 years of traditional cork handling with the most advanced technology.
The cork is the bark of the cork oaks that protects them against the extreme conditions of the Mediterranean climate, such as drought, high summer temperatures and fires. Cork Material is excellent for a wide variety of applications and yet is totally natural.
To obtain the best results we have first quality cork raw material and last generation technology, which together with more than 60 years of experience, allows us to offer our customers products and services of the highest quality such as cork.
Some of our areas of expertise: cork, Cork pads for glass , Cork Separators , Glass protection cork pads , Glass protection cork pads, Cork spacers , Cork protective pads , separator Pads , self adhesive cork Pads
Cork is an extraordinary material with unique properties that make it the ideal base for cork . It is a totally natural, renewable and biodegradable product. Its production does not produce any contamination or damage to the ecosystem from which it is extracted, as long as it is obtained by barking the cork oak, without cutting any trees every 9 to 12 years.
The disparity of sectors where cork is present, either as a final product or associated with a productive activity, implies important differences both in the production and in the commercialization of the products. BARNACORK S.L. was created with the aim of adjusting all its business processes to the particular needs of each sector, with the aim of improving and adapting our products and services to the requirements of our customers.
We are open to export and doing well in this sector. Please contact us for any project you have in the cork arena. We are willing to help your project succeed.
One raw material
The cork is the bark of the cork oaks that protects them against the extreme conditions of the Mediterranean climate, such as drought, high summer temperatures and fires.
It is made up of dead cells whose interior is filled with a gas similar to air. This gas constitutes almost 90% of the cork, hence its very light weight and its compressibility.
The walls of these cells, which are like tiny watertight compartments, consist mainly of suberin and cerin, substances that make it quite fireproof, very flexible and practically imputrescible.
Cork is, then, an extraordinary material, with unique properties. It is a completely natural, renewable and biodegradable product. Therefore, its production does not produce any contamination or damage to the ecosystem from which it is extracted, since it is obtained by barking the cork oak, without cutting any trees and that “harvest” is carried out every 9 to 12 years.
The special cellular structure of cork offers optimum compression conditions for the protection and transportation of glass.
Cork forests form the basis of an ecological system unique in the world, contributing to the survival of more than 250 species of birds, reptiles and mammals.
Cork is a material which is 100% recyclable, biodegradable and contains no contaminating products.
Unlike other materials the extraction of the raw material does not result in the destruction of the tree.
The average life of a cork oak is 200 years and each tree is capable of producing around 2.500 kilos of cork during its life-cycle.
